Suru Nayak tipped to be BCCI's new executive secretary

Kolkata, July 5 (ANI): Former Indian Test cricketer Suru Nayak is likely to be the new Executive Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Sources from Kolkata were quoted by The News as saying that Nayak, 51, has been short-listed for an interview before the Board's office-bearers next week.

Nayak has played two Tests and four one-dayers for India in 1982. The former BCCI president Purshottam Rungta and the honorary joint secretary Professor Ratnakar Shetty jointly suggested his name.

If selected, Nayak will replace Sharad Diwadkar, who resigned from the post last year. (ANI)
