Bridgetown (Barbados), April 24 (IANS-CMC) West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president Ken Gordon could be on his way out even though the board's executive committee recently rejected his resignation.
In a press release Monday, the WICB revealed that Gordon wrote to the executive committee April 17 indicating his intention to resign.
While Gordon chose to stay on after the executive committee asked him to reconsider, he is expected to make a final decision at a WICB meeting at month-end.
'Gordon did write to the executive committee of WICB April 17, advising that he intended to resign. He was requested to reconsider his decision and agreed to do so for the time being,' the release said.
Gordon's letter to the executive committee came a week after West Indies lost their fourth successive match in the World Cup Super Eight round.
In the letter, Gordon said his resignation would serve to signal a fresh start for the regional board.
