Omar, Saqibul lead Bangladesh to 250-7 v India

DHAKA (Reuters) - Opener Javed Omar made 80 and Saqibul Hasan 50 to help Bangladesh pile up 250 for seven in 47 overs against India in the first one-day international on Thursday.

Bangladesh elected to bat and opener Tamim Iqbal made 45 to give them a solid start. Mohammad Ashraful added 29, Aftab Ahmed 16 and Mohammad Rafique 11 in the rain-delayed match, which was reduced to 47 over a side.

After the opening partnership of 78, Bangladesh's best first-wicket stand against India, Saqibul added 107 runs with Omar before he was stumped by keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni off Dinesh Mongia.

Tamim was caught by Virendra Sehwag at long-on off Dinesh Mongia, who took three wickets for 49 runs.

Romesh Power took two for 55.
