NDA wins Hexagonal meet in Pune

Pune, March 23 (IANS) The National Defence Academy (NDA) has lifted the Sabhiki Cup, winning the Hexagonal Sports meet for the year 2008 at Khadakwasla here.

The Indian Military Academy was declared runners-up with 30 points. The sports meet was held at NDA from March 19 to 21 with teams the five Officers' Defence Academies, IMA Dehradun, AFA Hyderabad, INS Shivaji (INSS) Lonavla and NAVAC Goa and NDA.

The players participated in football, volleyball and cross-country competitions.

The NDA team defeated IMA 3-2 sets to win the volleyball title, while IMA beat NDA 3-2 in the football final.
