Bhambri, Mankad moves to ITF second round

Gurgaon, March 25 (IANS) India's wild card entries Yuki Bhambri and Harsh Mankad along with Vijay Kannan sailed into the second round of the $10,000 ITF men's tournament here Tuesday.

While Bhambri faced a tough fight from Indonesian Elbert Sie before downing him 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, Mankad had it easy beating Romanian third-seed Bogdan-Victor Leonte 6-3,6-3. Kannan beat compatriot Navdeep Singh 6-4, 6-2.

In other singles matches, Raja Purav lost to fourth seed Korean Hyun Woo Nam in a marathon match 6-7(5), 3-7, 7-6(3) and Rajneet Virali-Murugesan lost 3-6,6-3,6-0.
