I still have a lot to offer: Beckham

London, March 25 (IANS) Former England captain David Beckham, who is all set to make his 100th appearance for his country, says he still has a lot to offer, shooting down suggestions for immediate retirement.

'As much as reaching 100 is a milestone in an Englishman's career - and there are not too many who have done that - it is important for me to carry on,' Beckham was quoted as saying in The Daily Telegraph Tuesday.

'I am very honoured to be talked about in the same company as Bobby Moore and Bobby Charlton - they are players I have always looked up to. But I want to go beyond that,' he said.

The midfielder also insisted that his ambition is to keep representing his country reach as far as the next World Cup, when he will be 35.

'I want to carry on for quite a few years yet. I'd have turned around and retired if I didn't and I don't feel like doing that now. I wouldn't be here if I didn't feel I could do it physically any more.

'There are plenty of young players coming through but I feel I can still offer something,' he said.

Beckham, 32, will become the fifth English player to join the elite club of 100 matches when England plays against France Wednesday.
