COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - A vintage strike by Jan Koller earned the Czech Republic a 1-1 draw with Denmark in a friendly on Wednesday. The towering striker soared above Christian Poulsen in the 42nd minute to head home a Libor Sionko cross just inside the right post, beyond the reach of Denmark goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen. The Czechs dominated possession but created few chances, usually settling for speculative balls toward Koller in the penalty area. The Danes opened the scoring through Nicklas Bendtner, who calmly slotted the ball home in the 25th minute after a one-two with debutant Thomas Kristensen. William Kvist almost won the match for the Danes in the dying minutes, but Czech keeper Jaromir Blazek was there at full stretch to stop his well-placed shot from outside the box. The Czechs played without injured goalkeeper Petr Cech and midfielder Tomas Rosicky in their warm-up ahead of Euro 2008 in June, where they play in Group A against Portugal, Turkey and co-hosts Switzerland.
