Dubai, March 26 (IANS) The International Cricket Council will take a decision on Sunil Gavaskar's continuance as Cricket Committee chairman during its annual conference from June 29-July 4. The ICC, in a statement, stated that Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Speed met Gavaskar here Wednesday and discussed the issue.
'The meeting followed discussions by the ICC Board last week concerning the potential for a conflict of interests for a person chairing the cricket committee while at the same time working for a media outlet,' the release said.
It was agreed that Gavaskar would convey his views to the ICC after the upcoming meeting of the ICC Cricket Committee (May 5 and 6). The ICC Board will review the matter at its next meeting, during ICC Annual Conference week (June 29-July 4).
