If you've got it, you've gotta flaunt it. And under the floodlit and marvellously refurbished Ferozeshah Kotla on Wednesday, the DDCA officials did exactly that - indulge. The Delhi and Districts Cricket Association and the GMR enterprise -owners of Delhi Daredevils - have done a commendable job in giving a facelift to the stadium that, a few years back, was scoffed at for its lack of adequate facilities. But the advent of the Indian Premier League has seen the Kotla boasting a new, vibrant look, and unsurprisingly, the DDCA officials drove home the point. "We have done a lot of work, and the results are there for all to see," said DDCA president Arun Jaitley. "But we are still not satisfied, so the stadium will be spruced up further. We intend to make the stadium the best in the country," he added, before elaborating on the changes the venue has witnessed. Jaitley also announced that the formal inauguration of the rebuilt Kotla would take place on April 15 and BCCI president Sharad Pawar and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit would grace the occasion. He also notified that the association, together with the Delhi Government, will felicitate Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir - both were a part of the victorious Twenty20 World Cup winning team. Sunil Dev, the manager of the team, Chetan Chauhan, for being included in the 'US hall of fame', and Sanjeev Sharma, chief selector of the victorious under-19 Indian team, will also be honoured. There will also be cash awards for the victorious Delhi Ranji Trophy team.
