NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has pulled out of Thursday's Olympic torch relay in the capital for personal reasons, the head of the Indian Olympic Association told local television on Wednesday.
The decision had nothing to do with ongoing worldwide Tibetan anti-Chinese protests, another sports official, who asked not to be named, told Reuters.
Indian soccer captain Bhaichung Bhutia had already withdrawn from the relay in protest against China's response to unrest in Tibet.
Massive security arrangements have been made for the relay in India after the route was shortened in a bid to prevent protests.
