Kiwis start worldwide search for cricket coach

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has begun the search for national coach John Bracewell's successor nine months before his contract expires.

NZC Chief Executive Justin Vaughan has called for applications from qualified candidates from across the world. "We are looking for candidates who have the experience and drive to improve the Black Caps in both forms of the game," Vaughan was quoted as saying by the Herald Sun.

"We have a very good core group of players and the new coach should be looking to develop a side that will regularly win world events in the one-day arena as well as improving their test performances," he added. The last date for applying for the post is August 4.

In the advertisement, the NZC chief stressed on the need of an eligible candidate who can build on the solid foundation of the nation's cricket and thereafter takes it to the next level.

Meanwhile, Bracewell announced that as soon as he is over with his present assignment, he will return for a second stint with English county side Gloucestershire.
