| Located in central Belgium, Spa-Francorchamps has been home to the Belgian Grand Prix since 1985. However, the classic Spa-Francorchamps Circuit was knocked off the 2003 calendar in the absence of a unanimous agreement by the teams to run at the event without tobacco advertising. It lost out again in 2005 - but makes a welcome return to the calendar this season! The Track has the longest lap distance in the World Championship and is a rather tricky yet interesting circuit for racing. Weather has often played an important role at Spa, and has often left drivers in sticky situations. The size of the track sometimes leaves only one portion of the circuit wet, while it still could be dry at another. Michael Schumacher has a record six wins at Spa while Raikkonen won the last two in 2004 and 2005. |
