Located in Sakhir, in the southern part of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the US$150 million Bahrain Racing Circuit stages its fourth F1 race in 2007.
The circuit is almost five and a half kilometres long and boasts an eight-turn inner track alongwith an outer track with 10 turns. The circuit was designed by renowned specialist Hermann Tilke, also responsible for Sepang and recent modifications to the Nurburgring and Hockenheim tracks.
Despite a strong Ferrari showing in 2006, it was Alonso who raced to victory to claim his second successive win in the Gulf Kingdom. |
