The Circuit de Catalunya is one of the most advanced circuits on the Formula 1 calendar, offering drivers a challenging 66 laps of Grand Prix racing. A variety of demanding corners and short straights combined with the long high-speed straight makes Catalunya a real test for the drivers and cars.

2007 will give the circuit its 17th opportunity of hosting an Official F1 Grand Prix. It was first used in 1991 and was also an attractive center during The Barcelona Olympics in 1992.

Raikkonen, who won the Spanish GP in 2005 is the only driver in history to have won here but not gone on to become Champion.

While Michael Schumacher has a record five-wins at Catalunya, Hakkinen has won thrice with Mansell, Prost, Hill and Villeneuve being the others to reach the top step of the podium.

In 2006, the Spanish double Champion, Fernando Alonso brought the Catalan Championship theory back into force with a sensational victory on home turf.
